H
appy Mother's Day
I would just like to wish a very happy mother's day to all the mums out there and hope that like me you'll be doing only what you love doing today. I'm sure you can guess what I'll be doing today.
After I've done a bit! of crafting I'll be looking through the new catalogue and deciding what to spend my mothers day money on. How thoughtful of stamping up to coincide the new catalogue with mothers day. Well have fun what ever you decide to do today, here are the cards I made for my mum this year.
The first card I made was using stamp sets from Stampin Up. the first is called happiness shared and as my mum loves roses this was the ideal stamp image for the main focal point. The Happy Mother's day sentiment is from the the Occasional Greetings which is a very versatile stamp set. It has 12 different sentiment phrases so there is some thing for every occasion. The card I used is Baja Breeze I hope she likes it.
The next card was made using some paper from the designer series paper patterns stack (Subtles) and the easel card base was from Rose Red and the sentiment label from Sahara Sand. All the flowers are hand made by me apart from the small rose buds.

Today's card was made with one of the other sale- a- bration free stamp sets that you can get from stampin up from now until 28 February. It was made using the set called Bliss.
It's absolutely fabulous for vintage looking cards or can be made to look right up to date by using some of the gorgeous bright colours from the brights collection.

box for the rose card.

I made two versions of this box to house the card one is with a window sheet in the center section so you can see the card in it's box and the other was made so the card is endclosed
and decorrated on the outside I origanaly made the box with the window in it to hold a shirt card
thinking it looked like a box you sometimes buy with a shirt in it. This is the other version of the box which is made from a sheet of A4 card

Peterborough training

A few weeks ago I was asked by Monica & Bekka to do a demo booth at our quarterly get together. Well I had a lovely day meeting all you ladies
I decided to demonstrate how to make the rose using the large and small flowers from the Vinatage Vogue Set.
Hopefully when I demonstrated, it was a bit easier to understand.
I also showed how to make the rose bud and leaf and as I promised then, here are the pictures on how to make the rose buds to go with the rose.
If you have any questions about how to do this. Please email me.

kick up your heels

I was asked this week to make a card for a lady who just loves shoes (don't we all?). So I came up with this one for her. I cut the pieces for the shoes out of Taken with Teal, Black and Sahara Sand. I used the background stamp Bella Toile to make the pattern on the shoes, then made the base card as a easel card from Old Olive card with Rich Razzleberry and black as the mats. Hope she likes it.

Eleven new products

Stampin’ Up! have announced a Colour renovation, from the 1st May we have 11 new products. Sadly we are saying Good by to some of the colours in are stamping up family but not until Oct with the new Catalogue so you'll have plenty of time to stock up your favorite ones if they are going but this has to happen to make room for the new exciting colours and if the sneak peek we've had is any thing to go by we are in for some fab colours three of which have already been released I hope you are as excited as I am about this

This is how to make a rose using the large flower from the Vintage vogue set which is in the new mini catalogue.
First stamp and cut out three of the large flower.
The first one you cut out one of the petals and the center of the flower.
Roll the petal around a cocktail stick to form the center petal which is layer 1.
Then take the piece you have left which should have 5 petals, place some Tom Bow glue on the petal shown in the picture above bring around the other end and place on top of the glued petal and press together to form a cone this will make layer 4
Take the second flower and cut away two of the petals and the center, place glue on the edges of the two petals to form acone this will make layer 2.
You should be left with four petals,
place some Tom Bow glue on the petal shown in the picture above bring around the other end and place on top of the glued petal and press together to form a cone this will make layer 3.
With the third flower cut into the center and just cut out the center, place some Tom Bow glue on the petal shown in the picture above bring around the other end and place on top of the glued petal and press together to form a cone this will make layer 5
Now all you have to do is start with layer 1 and put a small amount of glue around the base and place it inside layer 2 then place a small amount of glue around layer 2 and place layers 1 and 2 into layer 3 and so on until you have all 5 layers done when the rose is dry you can cut of the end to make it sit flat on your card.

It's here!

The new mini catalogue is out now if you would like to get your hands on one, just drop me a line and I will pop one in the post for you. or click here if you just can't wait.

This piggy bank card was made using the sweet treat cups found on page 9 of the new mini catalogue they come in a pack of 12 so you'll have great fun making all sorts of treat holder cards I'll be posting more cards made with them soon. They are ideal for dropping a few pound into for a child's birthday or they can be filled with sweets.

My most favorite stamp set in the new catalogue has to be this one. It's so versatile and I just can't stop using it.
Here are a couple of cards I've made with it.

How to make the perfect bow. Cut a piece of thick card or chipboard the width you would like the finished bow to be. Cut out a slot in the middle of this making sure you have the same distance on ether side of the slot then follow step 1-10. At step 7 you have to pull the ribbon upwards till it forms a tight knot

Sorry I haven't posted for a long time but I've been a bit under the weather and off work for a few weeks, During that time I was unable to do much but watch day time tv. But I'm now well on the mend and feeling a lot better.
I held my monthly class yesterday and I must say having the girls around did cheer me up no end.

One of the projects we made was a double tri-fold scrapbook using the Christmas jingle kit. So now they don't have any excuse for not getting this years Christmas photos in to a scrapbook. I have done another version using photos from my weekend away in Benidorm with the girls from work (my day job is a phlebotomist at the local hospital) to celebrate my birthday way back in October. Just to show you that you can put as many photos as you like in it. Anybody wishing to join us for next months class I have a few places left so drop me a email. and I'll send you all the details of what we'll be making in class

I made this card for my friend Vickie it's her Birthday tomorrow. I used the stamps I got free from Sale-a-bration for the front panel. As she loves cake I think she should like it.
This was one of the projects that we made in last month's class
The exploding box opened up to reveal a smaller box inside

which when opened had a butterfly in it. Or you could change this for a small present in the space or a few chocolates if you wish.
